Audio comic creator Ben Potter, known online as “Comicstorian,” passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40. The news was shared by his wife, Nathalie Potter, on his social media account.

A fixture in the YouTube comic book community for over a decade, Potter had amassed 3 million followers with his engaging breakdowns of the Marvel and DC universes. He was known for bringing comic book stories to life through audio dramas.

“To many of you, he was Comicstorian,” Nathalie wrote in a heartfelt message. “But to his loved ones, he was an incredible person – supportive, kind, and always willing to lend a listening ear.”

She expressed her intention to continue his channel in some form, honoring his passion for storytelling and keeping his memory alive.

Potter’s death sent shockwaves through the online community. Tributes poured in from celebrities and fans alike, including actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. and comic book writer Scott Snyder.

Potter’s final video, “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel,” was uploaded just a day before his passing.
